Let us mark February 16 as a celebration of freedom and liberation!

It is a day filled with pride in our country and its patriots who fought for Lithuanian independence – the ultimate goal built on shared vision and unconditional love for the homeland.

Seventy years ago, the Union of Lithuanian Freedom Fighters signed the Declaration of February 16, 1949, in pursuit of the same noble ideals. The voice of a proud nation rose from a partisan bunker amidst occupation and violence, calling on all Lithuanians to stand strong and not to give up their right to live free and independent.
